چکیده
Cytoplasmic genic male sterility (CGMS) is a system that uses the maternal line for hybrid production, ensuring no obscurity of F1 seed purity and reducing cost production. Identification gene important plant improvement classification when using molecular marker-assisted selection (MAS) method. This study aimed to produce new (A-line) its maintainer (B-line) by transferring male-sterile from another variety restorer lines (C-line) achieve future In process, CGMS B-line transferred C1 C3 lines, which finally resulted in A-line (BC2F2A1 × C1, BC2F2A1 C3), (BC1F2B1 BC1F2B1 then used MAS method detecting genes pollen viability test newly improved lines. Marker-assisted introgression in backcross breeding programs.
The efficiency of marker-assisted introgression in backcross populations derived from inbred lines was investigated by simulation. Background genotypes were simulated assuming that a genetic model of many genes of small effects in coupling phase explains the observed breed difference and variance in backcross populations. Markers were efficient in introgression backcross programs for simultaneo...
متن کاملFunctional Marker Assisted Improvement of Stable Cytoplasmic Male Sterile Lines of Rice for Bacterial Blight Resistance
Bacterial blight (BB), caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae is one among the major diseases in rice, which in severe condition cause losses up to 60% in total yield. Marker assisted pyramiding of three broad spectrum BB resistance genes (xa5, xa13, and Xa21) in prominent rice varieties is the most economical and effective strategy for the management of the BB disease. We report here the pyram...
متن کاملRice Variety Improvement Using Marker-Assisted Selection
Molecular marker-assisted selection (MAS) is currently being employed in two areas of rice breeding at the University of Arkansas Rice Research and Extension Center (RREC) in Stuttgart. Presently the objective of the program is to accelerate the development of rice cultivars with improved cooking quality and rice blast disease resistance using two well-characterized molecular markers. A co-domi...
متن کاملTranscriptome Sequencing Analyses between the Cytoplasmic Male Sterile Line and Its Maintainer Line in Welsh Onion (Allium fistulosum L.)
Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) is important for exploiting heterosis in crop plants and also serves as a model for investigating nuclear-cytoplasmic interaction. The molecular mechanism of cytoplasmic male sterility and fertility restoration was investigated in several important economic crops but remains poorly understood in the Welsh onion. Therefore, we compared the differences between the...
متن کاملMarker-assisted Backcross Breeding: A Case- Study in Genotype Building Theory
Introduction I wish here to provide an overview of some past and more recent results on marker-assisted backcross breeding theory, and discuss the general consequences for marker-assisted selection and genotype building. Backcross breeding (MAB) is a well-known procedure for the introgression of a target gene from a donor line into the genomic background of a recipient line. The objective is to...
